I just put on my 275/50/15 BFG Drag Radials on Widened GN rims,
8" with 4" BackSpace. Also put on some variable rate springs
while I was at it. (CC627)

Clearance to the frame is good, can easily tuck a finger in there.
Im worried about the tires contacting the fender lip though.
It sits a good 2" above the tire, but it looks like a nasty bump
could cause the tire to catch the lip at the highest points on the fender.

Am i ok with the new springs or are my concerns valid ???

You shouldn't have any problems. I'm running M/T drag radials 275/50's with variable rate springs and air bags. Even with only 10# in each air bag and a buddy riding the back seat I never once contacted the fender lip.:)

i am also running 275/50/15 mt drag radials and i ahd to cut inside my fender a little bit

Me too, but I have 3.5" backspacing and had to roll the fender lip.

With 4" of backspacing you should be ok, I too have 3.5" of backspace and I had to roll the fender lip as well as fabricating bumpstops at the frame rails.
