Will removing 4x10's yield more bass?

I am installing the new rear/side panel 5 1/4 speakers molds from Gbody next week. I wont need my speakers on my rear deck anymore. I have a 10" Bazooka powered by an old school Punch 250. It really sounds good. I was just wondering if I would get more bass by increasing the air coupling from trunk to in-cabin by removing the speakers. Anyone do this and what results were achieved? Thanks.
