Hmm...not too incredibly far from me either. Definately would need more garage space though.

What sort of things would I have to look for to make sure its authentic?

How hard is this? What all is required?

It's commonly done, but kinda a PITA. A wiring harness, computer, engine and accessories are all required. It's usually easier to purchase everything all at once from someone parting out the car. That's why I said drop in a Chevy 350! :)

hmmmmm looks like a never ending $$$$ pit to me :D .... an when your done whats it worth ????? $22,500 ???????? I dont think so

I have to aggree with WACKO SS.. Drop the Chebby in & fix up the inside a bit.. you have a nice driver..
I would save it if it was closer

Looks ok on the outside, did you see the rust that is barely visable in one of the interior shots.... I am no bodyman, but my guess is that you could have $10K in the body to fix that right... before you get into any mechanicals...

#%&(%)@ winter and salt up here in the midwest!

Whomever buys it better have deep pockets or a LOT of skill and time. :D

How could you even think about dropping a SBC in there? Are you F'ing nuts?? Go get a Monte Carlo!!!!

The '82 GN was Buick's way of rubbing it in after winning the Manufacturer's Cup over Chevy (and Ford). I'd rather see it parted out, than have to suffer thru life with a pig's heart.

BUICK 350 or BUICK 455 if you're gonna go with a V8.

 :p ;)

This car was in my area. I should have bought it then. Current owner bought it off ebay in October. It's in average shape for an '82 GN. I seriuosly doubt the body work would run anywhere close to $10K.

Would be nice. Ive got a '87 motor sitting, and/or a couple 84/85 setups that would be nice in there.
Is that 4.1 the one with the rolled fillet turbo crank?

Neeeeed $$

Rich, wasn't someone giving one of those away (sans drivetrain)about a year ago?

A few months ago, there was one of those for sale locally in GOOD condition for real cheap. Maybe $2-3K if I remember correctly...

Absolutely... it looks lie the floors are shot which is NOT a big deal at all, the rest of the body looks decent, although I havent seen the framerails but even then... $10k is WAY high for fixing that.

And I also agree dropping a Chevy 350 in is Blasphmey... a complete stock 87 motor can be had for like $3k or so no reason not to do that and have a "different" turbo buick ride...

Buy it, restore it and prove me wrong. :D Geez. Just a wild arse guess... crucify a brother.

Happy Holidays!

:)

Here in Northeast Kansas there is a real 82 GN minus motor/tranny and title that has a VERY solid body and some decent interior parts that you could use with that car to build one out of two and he wants $300 bucks for it! Since it's sorta close to where that car is sitting I figured i'd tell you all about it. If anyone wants details about it to do this email me.

bob

p.s. please dont put a shivvy motor in it! :( it'd be a disgrace.

Not sure if it was already mentioned but the rear would have to be swapped if yo uwent with the intercooled setup to.Sure is a nice lookin ride with those wheels on it.

Yea, but it was picked clean of every part (many of which I have). It was eventually scrapped. The last owner sent me the VIN plate.

I bought in '82 GN for $200 once. It sat in my driveway for a while. It would have needed a motor and a completely new body - every panel was rotted. It would have taken a lot just to make it driveable. I had to part it out also. :(

This car has life left in it. Somebody has bid on the eBay auction. :)

BLAH!!! i hate that my SS is a chevy. But its such a cop out to drop a SBC in anything, its like taking the easy way out, i hate sbc is oldsmobiles. to do it in a buick is just as bad, especially since its a GN and not just a regular regal. I wish i had the funds to really piss the chevy guys off and drop a 440 magnum in my SS and tell them to f themselves.
