window switch, escution seperation

I was changing my upper door panels because the inside dew sweeps have failed and caused a LOUD screetching sound when the window went down.
I was trying to unplug the window switch (single on passenger side), and in doing so, the switch assembly popped out of the escution(sp). Now it will go back in, but not latch in place.
Did I break something off of the switch or escution?

Looks like I need to find new dew sweeps, and a new switch.

there should be 2 metal spring-clips that hold the switch into the escutcheon, if the clips are still there then odds are the escutcheon itself is broken (they are kinda fragile-broken a few myself). you can still get them from GM
