Hi, does anyone know how the intermittent wipers work? I replaced the washer pump in both my brothers 85 Monte SS and my 87 GN. Did the SS first and wound up breaking the plastic cover for the wiper motor trying to remove the "L" clip for the washer pump, but everything works fine.
While working on the GN, I thought I would remove the wiper motor cover so I wouldn't break that one. Removed the top 2 screws and loosened the bottom one and saw there was a circuit board on the cover and decided against that. Now the intermittent setting is not working. I can here a click at the motor when trying to use this setting but no movement.

Any suggestions?

Also, how hard is it to remove the whole wiper motor? Thinking about doing it on the SS to try and repair the cover.

Thanks, Mike

Sounds like you didn't get the motor arm lined up with the circuit board cam. Pull the cover off and put the pin on the metal motor arm so it rides in the slot on the delay plastic cam. Worst case scenerio is that you broke the plastic cam which means you'll have to replace the circuit board and cover.

Thanks for the info
Can this be done without removing the wiper motor?
Are there other pins that I have to watch out for?
