Wiper Linkage Improvements?

Has anyone done anything to improve the stock wiper linkage? Seems there should be a better way than the stock linkage setup. Maybe a push/pull cable of some kind?

stock set up system can be adjusted to work perfectly, found that driver side wiper arm wears where it attaches to the the arm pivot, good luck.

If you need to crunch snow and ice in the winter, without losing the arm, this works, (2) 4-40 screws, drill clearance holes with the arm perfectly aligned and then tap the pivot arm which is relatively soft white metal.
