I'm wiring up some electric fans through a single relay. Later I will wire a second relay and plug the trigger end into the ECM once I've swapped to a late model computer. My question is can I use an 86/87 temp sensor and screw it into a hot air manifold in the front of the mani and right below where the water neck is. There is a current sensor there which I assume is a temp sensor as well. Can this one be used or do I need the 86/87 one? I simply need a switch to trigger the relay at around 170 degrees or so. Can anybody help me on this?

im pretty sure that is the stock temp sen . i pulled mine out to run a guage dont thimk that sensor would work for a what you are trying to do but im not sure with the different ecm.

We just did my little brother's car. Went to car quest.........bought a complete kit. Came with screw in sensor, relays, harness, adjustable even........whole kit was about $50

Well worth it to me. Time is money :p
