The guy is probably not a car person at all, no use in someone like that keeping the car, let it go to someone that will enjoy it one way or the other. But I would question the mileage, only 6k miles and needed a fuel pump and broke antenna..the thing as hardly been started but only a few times..a bit too high on the price IMO for the condition and messed up paint on the hood.

I gree, way to much for a car with problems! It sure doesn't show like a 6000 mile car!

I agree it does not show very well for that kind of mileage. You would think that someone who was aware enough not to drive the thing would also have stored it inside with a cover.

As far as the fuel pump and antenna go, I find that completely believable. I bought my GN a year ago with 4,700 miles on it. Then antenna quite working after I drove the car about a dozen times (over 6 months). The nylon cord that runs it up and down had sat in the down position for 9 straight years......A couple of trips up and down was all it took to break it. Fortunately it was easily fixed with a new factory nylon cord. My gas tank was also replaced by the original owner just before I bought the car because the sending unit had rotted out while the car was in storage. My car was inside a storage unit with a cover on it. Nothing could preserve the inside of the fuel tank all those years. Fortunately, the rest of the car is pretty much perfect.

The $45,000 starting bid on that car is way to high. That kind of money would get you a similar low mileage car that was stored much better. Most of the GNX specific parts are no longer available, and the condition of that car is not great. I don't think that car is worth anymore than the high 30's.

If that car has only 6K miles but they were in salt country, that is a shame.
There is way too much rust (surface or not) on the underside for it not to been exposed to bad conditions. Just my 2 cents as well.

this will be interesting to watch ... a clean low mile GNX is worth over $50k :p in my opinion of course  this car def looks "rough" for what it is

That car looks very rough for its mileage.......hey, maybe its 106,000 miles instead of 6,000!????????? I wouldnt even want to pay 20k for that car

Good places to look would be the steering wheel condition, but mostly the wear pattern, and amount of wear on the brake pedal. The brake pedal and wear spot from the heel of your foot on the carpet usually tells the real story. Too bad you cant really see those areas with any detail.

RE: Tough 6,000 miles.

I own a 1987 gn with 4,608 Org Miles. I bought it 6 years ago when it had 2,100 miles. Except for the antennea which went this summer. The car has
been in a heated garage. I take it for short trips. My car was built in October.
Not sold till 1988. Have all papers. This car appears to have not been waxed or possile in damp quarters. My stolen GN which was not super clean had great paint. I think it was built in Oct. also.
In defense, It is real hard to go for an average ride. My previous gn,was stolen. See Kirban 1997. Broke my heart because. I had put so much into it.
Found stripped, I looked for a car to up grade turbo heads, so forth.....Caught hell from everyone , left it alone. STarted with a highmileage Limited. I am almost finished with it. White Limited with blue interior. Took 5 years to do. Going to drive it, race it, have fun. Guys you can't image what it is like to have a flawess car, loaded. And worry about your first rock chip and door ding. Which mine has none of.
I put 16' Enkies on it. Put the stockers in boxes. Start it reliously. Car came with buicks undercoating papers. Maybe why no tank or rust problems.
It's high priced. Higher to change things. I really was going to tear it up. Now I think about the Limited.....So you ask why not sell it...Someone has to keep some as perfect as possible...2 sides to everything...
