With so much riding on that decision. Would you have let the pitcher stay in for the 9th ?

The Royals had such a fierce combo of putting the ball in play, and the pitching, it would have ended at #6, in KC.
How's this..The pitcher overstayed his welcome. Should have been pulled at least the inning before.

I agree with both of you. I'm glad KC won the series they were playing good all along. I had no doubt about them going to win even if they lost game 5 last night.

But i was just asking about the decision to let the pitcher stay in for the 9th.

The decision was made to take him out but he complained that he wanted to stay in and he was allowed to get his way and stay in.

I would have told him we are in business to win, and this is not about you. It's about making the right decision. I would have stuck to my decision and took him out of the game.

I would have gone with the closer to start the 9th.
Irregardless of the pitcher, a good throw home by the first baseman would have prevented the tying run from scoring in the 9th.

But what do I know. I wanted the Cubs.

The Mets closer was no bargain to finish it off. :nailbiting:

I'd chalk up the series to Bill Buckner's revenge. :jawdrop::eek: ;)

They probably would have won 2 games against Toronto however. :p

I am so glad the Royals won! They were a team that just never gave up. It is such a big deal that school is being cancelled :eek:and businesses are closing to attend a parade downtown. I would love to go to it but I wouldn't want to deal with the traffic.

And to think... The Astros were one game away from eliminating KC before continuing their usual fall collapse.

The boss says you sit,you sit. Im not a mets fan but def should of taken him out, manager should use his head instead of his heart thats what they pay him for, nobody wants to be taken out of the game.
