wondering about used turbo?

I bought a turbo for like 100 bucks a little while ago and i was going to get it rebuilt but i dont have the cash right now since i have to do a full rebuild. its an 85 hot air but its going to have quite a few mods to it after im done and i was wondering if anyone has any input on re useing a turbo. its a stock one but i only need it for a little while. i think if i reseal it i will b ok. long enough to get the money for my ta33. just wondering?

Post in the H/A section. You might get more response there. I'm no expert, but I would be concerned as to how many miles are on it, and if it has any shaft play. You CAN get a rebuild kit that comes with bearings/seal/o-rings etc for around $100. Then, have it balanced and you would pretty much have a new one. Providing the compressor/exhaust wheels and shaft are in good condition. HTH ---Keith
