wont shift @ WOT

My nephew has an 85 and it will not shift at WOT. Under normal driving conditions the car shifts fine. Any info appreciated.

sounds like the govener spring, came off,

sounds like the tv valve is stuck in the valve body.a missing governor spring would cause late part throttle shifts too.try shutting off the engine and mashing the pedal 20 times hard so the tv cable will stroke the plunger ,strike the tv valve and maybe unstick it.to be sure install a pressure gage.
