Working on getting my tranny back in and for some reason I cut the two transmissions lines and it looks as if they were connected to the external cooler in front of the radiator, do I still need these lines? See pictures please. Don’t they normally go to the radiator, but my radiator doesn’t have connections. What the hell did I do and what do I need to do? And what do I have

I would not run with out a trans cooler especially in Florida . Run them to a good external trans cooler like a Derale Hyper Cool because heat is a big enemy of your trans .

That’s my plan to get a derale unit once completed. Does this mean that I would not need the one on front of the radiator that I have now?

You could just hook it back up for now . Do you have any pictures of it ?

I don’t but the inlet and outlet lines. Seem to have been cut to connect to rubber lines that flex up and connect to the cooler which is attached onto the front of the radiator. If you look at the 2nd picture you may be able to make out the flexible rubber lines

Rubber lines are ok if they are rated for fuel/oil .

That line from the trans to the cooler hits 60 - 70psi tops for a couple of seconds ( I've logged it for Dave Husek ) so fuel line should be ok .

But if there's a specific hose I would use that , but I haven't in the past.
