Would drop spindles hurt straight line performance?

Good day to all, I was wondering if drop spindles were a no no for a street driven car that was built pretty hefty? My friend has an 86 T and was kicking this around. His front end is in need of many new parts for inspection. Tires are wearing funny and it is all stock. While he had it apart he was wondering about dropping it for the low look. The rear suspension is all done with arms, bags and spacers, shocks, swaybar, pinion snubber and TA rear cover. Would he loose any of the benifits of this rear set-up by lowering the front 1 1/2 inches?

What are the thoughts?

The higher your center of gravity the better your weight transfer will be generally speaking.

For drag racing it is important that your front end can rise as easily and as high as possible at launch. This is why people run 90/10 shocks and trick springs which are very tall but not very stiff so the car maintains normal ride height.

Drop spindles by themselves can potentially hurt weight transfer since they lower the C.G. so they wouldn't be a positive mod in terms of launch. If the car dead hooks though it might give the car an edge in aerodynamics though which helps at the big end of the track.
