How much would a drum of C16 cost??

C-16 in the Dallas area went up several years ago to over $300 a barrel. I buy Phillips B-33 by the barrel straight from a distributor/dealer for $280 (last year). Places it in my truck at his shop. I use two ole slicks to roll the barrel off the truck. Some times they will even deliver it for that price. Also you may have to pay a Barrel deposit($25+-) the first time, and don't forget the bung wrench(?) and siphon pump ($20).
FYI- The distributor/dealer gives me a paper document that allows me legally to transport the barrel

I'm in the early stages of getting into this so I havent found out a whole lot about it just yet.

not to concerned with it till march or April anyway when I could actually sell some.

I have to drive an hour one way to get vp fuel for my car and I dont care to pay retail for a drum .

If it gets to complicated then I'll just have to purchase from vp for use in the companies race car.. ;)

With that kind of cake in my engine, I'd opt for propane over alky.

imo.

300-400 sounds pretty reasonable for a drum but over 500 bucks is a bit too much for me. I live in NC.... I'm willing to drive pretty good distances to get a drum or whatever and is there anyone on this board that can clarify for sure if you have to have a business licesnse or not..... if you tell them that you do not have the intention of making a profit off of the fuel you are buying from them i dont see the n eed of anything but ID.

I called VP East in Newark, DE.

A 54 gallons drum of C16 is $397.44 + taxes applicable to your locality. I mentioned New York State and she mentioned 3 separate taxes. "I love New York...".

The drum would ship common carrier (R&L Carriers, in the case of Newark), and shipping would cost between $80 and $100.

You DO NOT need a license.

Then I phoned our local VP distributor, about 1/2 hour from the house. $404.16, including taxes, plus a $10 drum charge. You know who I go to. He has C12 at the pump, plus 3 types of VP racing gasolines, including C16, plus VP Methanol, by the gallon, or any size drum VP offers, up to 54 gallons...

:D

Must be nice having something like that only an hour away. The closes place to where I live that might have that stuff is Rockingham Dragway, but of course the pumps are closed unless they are having an event.... why cant I have a nice c16 pump right down the road from me;)

You're intended setup sounds VERY similar to my car right now. I drive it onthe street all the time with the boost turned down to 20 psi. No problems at all getting on it with pump gas and that boost. I do have an alky kit but it doesn't turn on while street driving unless boost gets up over 20 psi. Oh, and it's only 92 octane here in Hawaii. But get an alky kit if you're spending all the money on these parts. It's an AWESOME investment as most anyone with one will tell you.
