Would like to see Pictures of OE digital dash clusters while they are turned on.
I know nothing about these digital clusters,
What do they normally display?
Can the display be reconfigured?

What is involved in swapping in an analog cluster and making it work properly?
thanks for you help
David

Call John Spina at Caspers. The dash harness in the car is differant.

If your gonna go to all the work to change it over, may as well put a gnx style dash and have some real gauges. I looked into it and it's a spendy deal, so I got Gbody's 3 gauge pod and put digital gauges in it to kinda make it compliment the digital dash.

thanks for the replies guys.
i was hoping to just pull one out and drop in the other one.
BTW That Dekota cluster is badass

I just did an article on the digital dash....in inner circle its on our website kirbanperformance.com

What is ironic is the digital dash was a $173 option yet had less features than the standard analog dash. Had no tachometer and boost was a basically a blinking lite. They also have a pretty high failure rate as they age...

It is a bit involved to change it over to the analog dash as the harness is different. Don;t ask me how as that is the extent of my knowledge in that regard.

One area the Monte Carlo SS had it all over the Turbo Buick was the dash gauges...

exception being the GNX

good luck

Don't forget about the Grand Prix dash cluster.
only if the damn Montes had that 7 as an eight digit.

Anyway its all going to come down to $$ but i will definitely try to move towards an analog dash.
the labor on converting is not a big deal. Plus this car is all butchered up so a replacement dash harness will actually be a big improvement.

Not sure, I don't even know if it works??
How much are the digital clusters worth?
Depends on condition. In unknown working condition ? I bought a working one with a broken trip reset knob for $50.00. The broken trip reset knob is not a fixable item, has to come from a working unit which is not easy to find. Caspers didnt have any spares.

Do not go the Dakota Digital route they are a pain in the ass and it never worked right. Unreliable.

Well a slight change in direction, if the digital dash is in the rpo codes its going to stay,
BTW what's the RPO code for the digital cluster?
