First things first..my car is still in limp mode because I am waiting a couple more weeks to get bigger injectors so I haven't been able to get on it since I put the new motor and turbo on..well when I bought this TE62 it had an enlarged puck hole but I wasn't told about this..installed it and barely spooled to 7psi and took forever...(stock elbow) thought it might be the worn out trans and stock converter so I didn't think too much of it as I have a TCI Streetfighter 2004r here and plan to get a 9x11 soon..

...and there was a super nice guy in the lounge offering to save freebie parts for the younger (read:Poorer) Turbo Buick guys on here and give them away...well a month or 2 ago this awesome guy let me have the deal on his ported elbow with a larger puck...

What a difference!! I am amazed that my crappy trans and D5 spool this thing like this!! Still haven't even gotten close to full throttle but at the 10psi I've reached it feels WAAAY better than my old TA49..I assume 10psi is ok with the stock fuel system, kept an eye on the O2's and they never got below 800, also never got revs over 4k..well just wanted to give a big thanks to him for helping me out and a few others that offered help when I posted about crappy spool a couple months ago and what i needed to do about it...to anyone wanting a small turbo, I'd say screw it and get whatever you can afford (within reason)

..so who wants to help me diagnose this damn code 44 that I can't get rid of now...if it's not one thing it's another but I did fall in love with my car all over again this afternoon!

glad it fixed your problem, sounds like she spools up alot faster with the hole being closed all the way:D

get that darned fuel pump in there SOOOOOON!

BW

Congrats.

Just wait until you put a THDP or ATR on there. :D

On the code 44, if you haven't already, off gnttype.org,
CODE 44

Trouble Code 44 indicates that the O2 sensor is showing a persistently high exhaust oxygen content (lean), despite the efforts of the ECM to increase injector on-time (thus increasing fuel delivered). Integrator and BLM numbers may indicate > 128 by a substantial margin.

The conditions for setting this code are:

no Code 33 or Code 34 (MAF Error) present, and
the O2 sensor voltage remains below 250 mVolts, and
the ECM is in Closed Loop control, and
the above conditions exist for more than 50 seconds.

Typical causes for this code include:

1) O2 sensor defective or lead shorted
2) Lean injectors (dirty or blocked)
3) Water in fuel
4) Exhaust leaks upstream of O2 sensor
5) Fuel pressure or volume too low
6) MAF sensor reading lower airflow than is actually present
7) Vacuum leaks
8) Incorrect or poorly calibrated PROM

That should get you started on the search. Hopefully it's some help.

Oh I don't worry Bryan, I will soon!! (thanks for all your help also man) I think I am going to just order that Racetronix kit which includes everything for $140, pretty good deal considering the quality of all the componets....I am just going to go with a set of used 50's for fuel, looks like I can get them for $250 or so..don't plan on 10's anyway so that will be fine..

On that 44, I've done a search and read up quite a bit...looks like my BLM's are pegged at 150 at idle, I do have a vacuum leak..think it's the doghouse..plan to pull it tomorrow and remove the spacer and install the Power plate...maybe that will solve it..

Thanks guys!
