WTF??3 different boards=3 different faces??

It seems that quite a few that post on other TB board's have 3 different faces(2 moderators from this site included)

Just curious as to why some of you have to put on a different face for each board??

Can you not be consistent or are some of you stupid enough top think some people dont read all 3 TB sites??

Do you mean different user names. I can tell you that when I first registered, I used my first name. Didn't know I could make one up. But since then, I always use gofstbuick. In fact the reason there is not an "a" in fast is because that was the limit of characters to register for my aol account, so I kept it that way. I hope this is what you're asking.

With that said, the four major boards (I incl TB.com in that) have very different philosophies. Especially with regard to vendors. Personally I like members of each board and try to treat everyone equally and to attempt to be fair. Sometimes in my dealings with other, it may not appear that way. IMHO we are pretty tolerant over here, but we also try to enforce the rules consistently. You may have a lot more leeway on other boards. From someones standpoint, that may not be such a bad thing. The differences in the boards make each unique, just like individuals. Sometimes when we're behind the keyboard, we are overcome with ego. I'm sure that in face to face situations we're all just regular joes who share an interest in turbo Regals and Pontiacs.

Well IMO you shouldnt come over here and act like you like this site then go over to ******** and put some crap in your sig or just downtalk mods/owners over here(mod Shane is 1,Intercooler is another)

Then there was a thread where another tb.com mod said something bad about my selling practices when he owed me $750 and had for a few weeks on somthing I sent him on good faith(but that makes me a bad seller huh??)

Im just sick of 3 faced assholes as the Buick world seems to be full of em.

And the thing with vendors doesnt fly with me,******** is proud they dont support vendors but look what happened with a thread's against Mease,Cal Hartline,And Mike Licht.All those assholes (and members that post in both places)were ALL FOR THE VENDORS!!!

At least on the vendor owned board,the threads dont attack the customer THAT WORKS FOR HIS $$$ AND MAKE'S SURE HE GETS HIS $$$ WORTH.

Oh well!!Sorry for the rant!!

The management of this site doesn't prohibit mod and/or admin from posting on other boards. IMHO, that would be a little controling . We like to think that those posting on other boards will follow the rules and guidelines associated with the particular board. That is all we ask here at TB.com. Admin above me may have different ideas. I'm sure that if something is not up to their standards, he/she will notify the other party and discuss issues. You sometimes have to sit back and say to yourself that it is the internet and it's just a board. Too many people take things too seriously. As I have said before, this board strives for consistentcy. Sometimes it is more apparent than others.

Yes, I am a mod here. I mod "Parts Wanted" it's far from the most important part of this board, hell it pales in comparison to it's sister "Parts for Sale".

Why do I do it if it's such a small part of the board? Because I like to help out and aid the Buick community, and Jesse asked me to. You might try that sometime rather than troll the lounges trying to cause trouble.

Do I act differently here than on TBs and T6P? Yes I do. It's been made PAINFULLY clear over the years that this is a family orientated board. One cannot say all of the things here that one could say elsewhere.

Sometimes I have issues with how this place is run, as I'm sure that most people here do to some extent. I won't even argue that I've bitched about it on the other boards, I'm sure I have. In the end, I'm glad to be a member here and I'm glad to help out the community.

You haven't been around long enough to make sweeping generalizations like this. Ever wonder why some of us have "Registered May 2001" under our names? We've been around a while and we've seen trolls come, we've seen them go. We've seen board ownerships change, and we've seen scandals.

i don't have any strong oppionions one way or another on any of the boards. i always come here just because it was the first one i found. i do occasionally go to t6p when i'm looking to buy or sell something, but i don't read everything, i don't have that kind of time. if i did have the time then maybe i would. and i never really liked turbo buicks.com, i don't know why maybe its the boring colors, i don't know. again it goes back to the time i have.

anyways my real complaint here is with this board. everyone running this place seems to be fairly open minded and willing to let people think what they want. why are we not allowed to say turbo buicks without getting ********??? the *****'s are bull ****. if you go into a ford dealership and say chevrolet are they going to casterate you for it? no way, they are going to respect your right to say that word. curse words are ok, they should have *'s but the name of another buick board, come on... grow up.

but i have to disagree with a lot of the things i've heard. people here are some of the best people(as a whole) around.i use this place mostly as a refernce place when i had car problems. no matter how stupid the question was i almost always got an answer, 99% of the time the answers are right too. does that say something? people who know what they are doing will spend 15 seconds to write a reply with a simple answer to a dumb question. try getting that at other places.
