Well, this one baffles me...last night I got in the car and noticed the dome and other interior lights didn't work. No biggie I thought...after I started the car the "Fasten Belts" and "Service Engine Soon" lights popped on and off at random and my door/headlight idiot chimes don't work either. What is going on besides the fact that my car is possesed by Satan himself? I'm about to go out there and show that fuse box what's up!

The chime module controls the door/headlight chimes and the fasten seat belt light. The chime module plugs into the convenience center located behind the dash between the steering column and radio. There are two items plugged into the convenience center, one is small and square. This is the horn relay. The big module (about the size of a pack of cigarettes) is the chime module.

To remove the module, remove the lower protective panel under the steering column and reach up to locate the two items. Unlatch the latch on the chime module and pull away from the dash. It will take great patience to get the module out of this tight area.

Maybe fixing the chime module will fix the SES light. However, they usually have no relationship.

How about we take a more logical approach at this problem. ;)

The chime module has a power input from the CIG/CLK fuse among others.

It is no longer getting the power it needs to run properly due to the blown fuse.

Eliminate the dome interior light problem and you may not have to go after that module. Unless of course it is what caused the blown fuse in the first place, but I doubt it.
