I got a letter from a District attorneys office today saying that someone filed taxes for me in New york in 2008-2010. This is sad to happen from a apartment that I had in Queens, Ny. The subjects that have done this crime are in custody and they say they hit over 300 people in the texas, arkansas, and louisiana areas.

I got a disposition paper to file out and send back for everything, but Im going to try to go up there for the trail or whatever they do.

Verify THIS isn't a scam call the IRS and the DA's office to verify a false return was filed, etc. Can't be to careful these days.

send them your social security number so they can verify that you are who you say you are..


just kidding- that's the worst possible idea.. this might very well be a scam to try to get you to cough up your info..

they sent a tax return with my sn on it already and I called up there and all. Sounds legit...
