yea, i'm getting one next week . should be running high 3's with it, but it will take 2 days to spin it up, kinda annoying i'll have to have a fuel truck there while i'm at the light.

but seriously, thats huge, but how big would the engine have to be??? that would be the amazing part!

Actually, that looks like a blower set up used in a snow melter used at Ohare, Laguardia, Newark, and other snow belt airports. Its drivein w/ a 8v71 Detroit diesel just for the blower. The heat exchanger looks like a Bis Azz torpedo heater w/ 8 nozzles squirting up to 600 gal of fuel PER HOUR. Thats some serious fuel baby !!!
I woulda took pics while i was there, but thats a serious no no in the airport, especially after 9/11. I ran a 30' snow plow hooked up to a 988 Cat loader. Total weight around 80k lbs.
BTW, anyone every heard of Aero Snow or DeJana Industries ?? Thats whos got the patents on that stuff. Their a east coast based airport snow removal and also street sweeping company. They also do garbage removale along w/ other stuff to make a buck.

I honestly don't know what its from. But it looks cool and I want one. Could be a fancy water pump for all I know, but hey its obvious it blows somethin so why not have it blow some major air down the throat of a major motor.

It's actually a fuel burner from a company called Hauck. I used to work at a place that built aspahlt plants and we used those burners in the end of the drums to dry the aggregate and then mix with the hot oil for making asphalt.

They make some WICKED fire if you ever get to see one burn outside of a container.

I'll end the mystery: it's me in the pic. The turbo is a carwash blower. It's made out of fiberglass. See all the structure in the background? That's the frame work for the machine.
