To all the negitivity Man! you'll said your point. This Tread is for people that bought these headers in to help them in fitment issues .It looks like you all have the time to blow repeatible bash on the members,or the manufacture that did make the headers .If you dont have something constructive to say dont say it at all,with all due respect!!!
 
With all due respect. Take it easy there. Just throwing in a little humor. This thread is a little dry after the first few pages. The only reason I read this thread was because I couldn't believe that so many pages of thread were on a discussion of a set of headers? I do agree that for those that need the help this may be helpful, but how many times are you guys going to keep saying the same stuff over and over. This should be a lot simpler than it's been made to appear.

Also, in my previous post there is some truths between the lines that you should be aware of. The little bit of money you pay for these headers is supporting some outrageous labor practices. I know, I know. Everyone needs an opportunity to make a living. I'm just saying. Be aware.

Well, he did come off as a woman. Wouldn't that make you mad too?
 
Just punnin, but everyone has a price they can afford for certain things and don't have a problem cutting and fitting i don't think the headers on your engine are off the shelf either, and i think you're engine looks awesome.:biggrin:
 
E-bay headers

Iv'e got a friends set here laying in the garage, Along side the ATR headers, BIG differance in quality. They appear cheaply made- Thin, cheap clamps, and the two piece crossover with the slip coupling clamp. But hell, for $300 what more can you ask for? they are worth $300 and are a step up from stock but that is about it. Scot w.

Its all good no hard feeling here after all we are all on the same side. i can see your point about the labor issue.Its a dam shame we cant make a good set of headers for a more reasonable price! Take care.:)PS nice motor
 
Just wanted to say that I've been thinking about this for about a month now and I've decided I'm going with the TA headers. I'm calling it now... the e-bay headers are going to crack when folks start getting some miles on them.

Adam, mabye we should try to make a pair and see what it takes.
I know the first pair would take some time but once we knew what we needed and had our resources in place we could probley bang'em out pretty quick. The hard part is going to be the bends.

Alan, my brother put his Ebay headers on his Stage II and they fit great, even in his 88 Camaro.. The Turbo flange is actually moved back about 1 inch and we made some adjustments. So its all good. They work perfect.

I just won a set of the ebay headers for 200 bucks when they come in i will post back about the quality of the bolt holes and the welds and then the out come of the installion of them

How many people are running the JDM headers on their cars now? What are YOUR opinions on them?

I'm only interested in people that are actually running them on their cars.
 
hey guys


I got my JDM motors ebay headers installed today.


The headers fit the heads and block great with no problems at all. the only problem that i ran into was the bottom bolt on the middle tube on the pass side header is entirely too close to the tubes. so a little bit of massaging with a hammer to clearance the tube and it fit using a 3/8 header bolt in that hole.

The cross over fits very good no modding there. The only problem that i have is there is a small leak where the cross over pipe slips together. but thats nothing a band clamp can't fix.

Now the THDP will fit bit you will need a hott wrench to heat up the pipe and dent in the side of the pipe to get it to clear the crossover. OR you can just get a 1/2 inch spacer to go between the turbo and the downpipe.

I just chose to clearance the DP since the pipe has had some other clearnace issues before that had to be pounding out

i will take pics of it tomorrow.

Also i'm going to take some back pressure reading with the new headers to see if changing the headers has made a diffrence in the pre-turbine back pressure.


I have noticed a big difference in the tip-in response on the throttle.


Yeah the headers now have a nice blue tint to them at the flanges and a really nice bronze color every where else.

you really can't go wrong with them. i gave 189 buck plus shipping and that was like 28 bucks
 
$200 bucks, that's believable. Hard to believe the materials can be had for that. Don Wang, you comment up above was funny as $hit. Good comedy.
