Mike
Not Sure why anyone would throw you under the bus here, but I certainly appreciate your efforts.
I can also appreciate Walbro Stepping up with their offer on a pump they have never offered warranty on.
The Racetronix 340M has been working well for me, I've had 1 fail in the 10-12 I've installed in the last 2 years
Sorry you did not like the response, here is the brutal facts. Walbro does not offer ANY warranty on pumps. They are stepping up and taking care of them and they did it without hesitation when I brought this to their attention with the help of some members here. You were told that the pump would be exchanged I see you failed to mention that part. I have sold these pumps for over 15 years and they have been GREAT. look how many folks use them. Now they have a problem that they are WILLING TO TAKE CARE OF and now they get bashed like they are the worst company in the world. They are not going to fix this on your terms they are going to do it on theirs. You think Walbro wants to jump back and make the new pump that will work like a double pumper after the things that have been said? It is no wonder that most aftermarket companies want nothing to do with Turbo Buicks. I got involved with this problem and got soemthing done, now people bash me, send me crappy emails, complain about stuff they bought 3 years ago that still works fine. It would have been better to do what all the other guys did that sell Walbro, NOTHING and that is what you would be getting.
I know this sucks, it suck for me too, but let them at least let them fix it.
Mike

Mike, I appreciate what you and Walbro are doing.
When mine went out, I did not have a fuel pressure gauge. I managed to limp home, but when I got home I had massive amounts of blowby. I did a leakdown test and determined that I either had broken rings or ring lands. But that is my stupidity for not listening to my engine crying out for help. And not being properly instrumented. I now have a fuel pressure gauge and a Racetronix kit, which includes a Walbro pump, which works just dandy.
And I have a fully forged engine sitting in my garage almost ready to install. I am not complaining, btw. When I get the new pump, I will go to a dual pump setup with two great Walbro pumps. Win-win, as far as I am concerned.
Thanks again, Mike.
Yeah, I should find a pitcher and use that as my avatar. You may have started something. Red was was always my favorite.HEY KOOLAID !!!I just had to say that. I am sure there will be many that understand what I am saying and I hope you do.
I see you just jumped on the board with this thread. Welcome... What type of configuration do you have. Share you info with us and good luck with your car combination.
Enjoy,
Mike
sounds like a fun car- but i have a minor nitpick.. the 97 F bodies had the LT1- which is a 350, not a 347. in 98, they went to the LS1- which is a 346..Yeah, I should find a pitcher and use that as my avatar. You may have started something. Red was was always my favorite.
I have a turbocharged GM car. I've got a couple of extra cylinders, however. Namely a 97 Pontiac Formula with an STS butt turbo. The current engine is the stock factory 347. I am building a fully forged 355, fully balanced, turbo cam, aftermarket intake, 58 mm throttle body (stock is 48) electric water pump, Snow Stage 2 methanol injection, and an off-road y-pipe. It's instrumented with EGT, Fuel Pressure, Boost Pressure and Trans Temp. It has a 3400 stall and a custom tune by myself.
It's current configuration dynoed at 400 rwhp, I estimate the new engine should dyno around 600+ rwhp at high boost (I have a 2 stage boost controller).
It's very peppy and I enjoy driving it very much. The one day I went to the track the fuel pressure regulator went out and I only managed a 13.0. Shortly after that the fuel pump went out, and I was done.
The new engine should be in and tuned by the spring, and I hope to be a bit quicker.
I know it's not a Buick, and it has too many cylinders, but it is a GM and it is turbo'd. I jumped on board because I have one of the faulty Walbros, which cost me my current engine. But the new one will be much faster, and when I do get it going, I will need to dual up my current Racetronix Walbro with the replacement Walbro to support the 60 pound injectors and 12 pounds of boost I will end up with.
O.K., doesn't really matter to me. However, it is called a 5.7 liter, which converts to 347.835 341 34 cubic inches on the converter I used. Peace.sounds like a fun car- but i have a minor nitpick.. the 97 F bodies had the LT1- which is a 350, not a 347. in 98, they went to the LS1- which is a 346..

You guys are scaring me. I purchased a Walbro from gbodyparts earlier this year. I don't have the numbers off of it but I hope it's not one of the faulty ones.
Just called Gbody and the guy that checked one of theirs ended in 169. What about the denso one? Who's running it and what vendor handles it. I'd like to get a new one in so I can make a run to the track before they close for the winter.
