Time to start the tuning process HELP

I am using a TT-92 chip and the instructions sheet say to start the FP at 43 PSI.
The big question is which way is it safer?
Lower the FP or to lower the fuel setting on the chip?
Just guessing here but if you lower the Fuel pressure and you get a surge would the lower FP starve you up top?
Or
If you lower the fuel setting and you get a surge the Computer can possibly make up the deference with the higher available FP?
Does any of that make any sense or am I just showing my lack of knowledge?

Lower it in the chip. Does not having a VSS stop Eric from allowing adjustment of 1/2 independent of 3/4?

I lowered the Fuel Pressure to 42ish with the vacuum line DISCONNECTED.
I also drove the car for 35 miles of mixed driving and got .7 KRT at about 3/4 throttle and about 6-8 PSI of boost.

This was on idle after all of the driving around.
O2’s---------------761, 820, 808, 816
KRT---------------0.0
Air Flow -----------04
L8 engine load -----35
Volts---------------13.4
INT----------------128
BL-----------------131
MPH---------------00
CLT----------------159
ATS---------------110
R------------------700-725 steady
TPS----------------.44
IAC----------------27
CC-----------------61

The car is running good again

This was last night
O2's-834 / 0 KR at 16-18 PSI of boost
O2's-855 / 0 KR at 16-18 PSI of boost.

Should I pull fuel from it?
When do I start playing with the timing?
Also my car does not have a VSS So any changes would effect the whole run.

what kind of gas are u running? 820 is still arond the 10.0-10.3 a/f ratio area. i would pull alittle more fuel. thing is i run alky so i would pull fuel till you see knock then add alky but since your not running alky pull some more fuel. Check and see what the 02's are then u can add timing if you like. for street stuff i wouldnt add timing no real point. I would keep the boost where your at if your on pump gas. You really need a wideband to see where things are at. Its hard to say what to do once you pull alittle more fuel without a wideband or alky.

one of my concerns is that I haven't changed anything since the 834 and 855 runs at 16-18 of boost and now at 20 psi it dropped down to the 820s
I am assuming that as the boost climbs the car will continue to lean out.

So with that in mind how much fuel if any should I pull?
Also is it safe to let the boost keep climbing with just using 93?
I didn't get any KR but what do you guys think?
i want to stay on the safe side above all!!

safe would be turn it down 2 psi. i wouldnt run that much boost on pump but i have before. i would run 18 or so and try to dial it in there.

What is the best way turn down the boost?
adjustable waste gate?
RJC boost thing?
EBay $20.00 boost controllers?
stand alone boost controller? $$$$$

i would try to turn it down via the RJC controller if thats what u have. I like to leave my wastegate rod nice and tight.

I still haven’t gotten around to the actuator but I have a few more questions.

I little while ago I checked the FP and it some how it got back up to 45 -46PSI with the VACUUM LINE DISCONNECTED.
So I backed down the FP to 42-43 PSI and I noticed a “change” on the idle
.
Also I slammed on the pedal once or twice and the car back fired and sputtered.
I did it again and it just sputtered I’ve had this problem since day one.
Where do I start looking for the solution?
It feels like a carbed car dumping too much fuel.
Should I keep pulling fuel to see if it improves or gets worse?

Today I will lower the FP by one pound increments to see if it gets worse or better.
I will post up my findings later tonight.
Wish me luck.

So I lowered the fuel pressure down to 40 PSI with the VACUUM LINE DISCONNECTED.
And immediately the vacuum dropped to -18 psi from -15 psi on idle
I then went for a spin and the boost jumped to 25 psi at just above 5/8 to ¾ throttle from the previous average was 15-16 psi at full throttle.
I tried to make at least one WOT but I could not get even close to it the boost would just come on way too fast and too high.
It looks like one of my big problems was way too much fuel.
Now that the car came back life it brought another problem with it and that’s too much boost:frown:
Now I need to get some type of boost controlling device.
Please guys keep the advice coming.
David
