E85 cranking/start values for XFI-- she doesn't like the cold...

Got a .bin you can send me? I have lots of experience with E85 on my LT1, was able to cold start down to 20F (hard, but started), and reliably down to 35F (enough for daily driving still). I just haven't spent any time on the GN .bin.

    Tips on going SD/MAFLess?

My MAF is dead (got an LQ4 from someone) and it was dead out of the box, for the moment I am committed to that setup, so I am running SD for a while. My old MAF is dead, no going back anyway. Any tips/advice? I am having issues in the cold with driveability. I have to make it FAR richer...

What the heck is going on with the E85 prices????

Last week we were at $2.25, I know, steep for E85. Then it went to $2.55, then $2.74 where it is now. I can still go 35 mile away and get for $2.24, up from $2.04, but still, $0.50 a gallon jump????? I am in Rockford, IL, and the $2.24 is in Freeport, IL.

    Any E85 local?

I'm not alone in Rockford? Cool! Yup, still in the 2.25 range.... I am thinking of putting my 454 back on a E85 diet this week..... :) My 3800 SC has had it, I am not on it right now, just gas can be more convienent. Hope with gas prices finally dropping a tad E85 will drop more.

Fuel mileage and overall cost of burning E85

Fuel mileage and overall cost of burning E85

I am figuring this will be a bad summer for high gas prices again, they are $2.75 for gas and $2.67 for E85 in the WINTER (yes, they keep raising the E85 price), and it is January. They gave us a summer off from stupid high, now it will come back by the look of things. So I am hoping to get...

should i switch to a regular oil or stay w/ roetella

Oils: What motor oil should I use? Which oil is best for my Porsche or aircooled engine? Got some reading to do..... And this on Mobil oils http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Files/Mobil_1_Product_Guide.pdf

should i switch to a regular oil or stay w/ roetella

I found one article that the CJ spec oils have still nearly 2x what the old SF oils had. I would think they have more than enough. Break in always needs high levels. I don't know if there is any harm in high levels, other than cat performance long term.

should i switch to a regular oil or stay w/ roetella

I would think EOS and any oil is fine, but EOS and a high ZDDP oil like Rotella T, Delo 400 or Delvac Super or their synthetic kin is overkill. I don't think it really can hurt, but I am not an oil chemist either. I run Rotella T synthetic 5W40 in my L67 Supercharged 3800 and I run 15W40...

    stumble on hard accell

Any reason you are chasing the boost control valve? Just a thought, when under boost the ignition system must be in tip top shape. The boost will attempt to put out the spark if it is weak, I have seen way too many 3800's with rusty terminals under the plug wire boots. Take a look, ensure...

    E85 and mileage, real world

On my SC3800 (00 Park Ave Ultra) mine dropped right around 30-35%, worse than my 94 Fleetwood LT1, that one only dropped 20% tops. I guess 10:1 compression on iron heads might help too....

    E85 and mileage, real world

For those of you who have switched over to E85, any clue on your ACTUAL % of mpg drop? Thanks!
