    Another 9 second Turbo Buick

The other day a friend of mine went his first 9 second pass. 9.95 @ 134. Here's a quick video: It's tuned with whatever you think is the best, so it's done the right way in your mind. No need to debate the various tuning methods here.

What do the aftermarket ECU's do that the stock one doesn't? It's fuel, timing, and boost; right? I'm curious, not doubting that a stand alone is superior, just wondering. I saw where someone mentioned individual cylinder tuning, but I don't think most people are going to run 6 wideband...

    No, it's stock stroke. I think it's the .8XXX

I dunno. It's not my car, so I don't have the finer details. I did briefly look at the data from the power logger on one pass, and I want to say IDC was about 65%, but I wouldn't swear to it.

It's on about 28 PSI. 60lb injectors. It runs about 10.3 AFR at WOT most of the pass. I don't know how much timing was in it on that pass. Power Logger showed no knock. It has a single nozzle methanol injection kit from Julio. I don't know enough about the engine management stuff to give a...

Rode along with a friend to the drag strip today. His 87 Regal clicked off it's first 9 second pass. He's been chasing 9's with it for a long time, so it was great to finally see that single digit ET. The car went 9.95 @ 134. The main mods are: RCG built 3.8L Champion Aluminum heads Extreme...

I just saw the ET street SS in a 275/60-15, and they are about an inch taller than what we have now. That sounds like the way to go. The car is street driven quite abit, and I don't think we are gonna go to the pro's on a street driven car. The SS's might be the ticket though. Thanks!

I think the only 275 radials available are a tick shorter than the 255/60's that are on the car now. We are worried about pushing the RPM up even further with a slightly smaller tire diameter. The bigger foot print would be nice, but the shorter diameter concerns us. We are already on the rev...

It has 3.42 gears in it now. It is on the limiter in third for the last 10-20 feet of the track, so we either need a taller tire, a little less gear, a bit more RPM, or let it shift into OD.

We haven't done much work on getting the car to leave. It's still on the footbrake, no two step or anything. We were at 18 PSI in the ET street radials before the burnout. The car tire shakes about 5-6 feet out all the way until the 1-2 shift, so I think we probably need to go up a little in...
