I have for sale a longblock out of my 86 GN. It is intake to pan. It was rebuilt 7k ago. Stock crank and rods, TRW forged pistons .030 over, Heavy duty valve springs. Crane mild street cam (not sure of the specs), Double roller timing chain, Only problem with this motor is I believe the valve seals. It would smoke at startup, so it may need a valve job. (Maybe I didnt start it enough in the winter) Asking 900 but No reasonable number will be refused. Located just south of Chicago.

I will consider trades for the following parts: New OEM bumper fillers, aluminum bumper supports, or 3" GBODYPARTS stainless single shot exhaust.

Here are pics of the bottom end. I had recent inquiries for pics, so I removed the oil pan. None of the walls appear scored.

Why did you pull the motor?
Is shipping the motor a option?
In two of the pictures(top of 3rd pic and right side of 4th pic), it appears to be some scoring in the bores, is that correct?

The motor was supposed to be built as a stroker a long project and a race roller was going to be bought. The race roller fell through (owner said it got vandalized:rolleyes: ). So I sat here with the motor out of the car, and no body. So I ended up buying an 87 GN with a motor already in it.

As far as scoring, what exactly is scoring? Im not a motor guy, so I am not sure what to look for. I can tell you that I turned the engine to get a look at each of the cylinder walls and where the piston stopped is a line of where the oil was so it looks like marks but its really not. Only thing I can tell someone is to come take a look for yourself. But it only has 6k miles on it.

Can still see cross hatch but the # 2 cylinder, not sure if the lines are from the camera.. they look like they continue up onto the skirt which to me looks like an illusion and not scoring on walls

But at least theres not a crappy weld trying to hide cracks on an ole pair of beat up headers eh:biggrin:

Scoring, is small rub marks or scratches in the bores, when you rub your finger tip over them you can feel the imperfections.

I have had lots of interest on shipping it but priority will be given to local buyers first as it is less hassle, plus it gives them an opportunity to see the motor for themselves. I will run my nail and see if all is good as far as smoothness.

I went ahead and cranked the motor and checked the cylinders with my finger nail like a fellow member asked me. I ran across the "vertical" lines on the cylinder. I do not feel any "grooves" and it feels smooth when I run my nail across it. Hope that helps.
