1-2 Accumulator

What would be the symtoms if the 1-2 acc piston and spring were reversed??

For example:


seperator plate
piston
spring

instead of

seperator plate
spring
piston

Long drawn out shift usually at more of a throttle opening.....

yep and that was his problem. The guy that built that trans had it backward. I fixed it last night.

Would an incorrect/lighter/shorter spring also produce a soft shift?? I know some kits shim the accum piston up tight or put a stiffer spring/spacer on the shaft (ala B&M). Sort of answered my own question here but looking for a confimation from the gurus..

this is nice to have some input.. I just built this transmission.. it does have a 200C servo cause thats what was in it before.. I removed the fluid/pan and piston/spring and it was short!!! I installed the other back in with a new seal and put it all back togeter.. its better but no like a buick should be, so.. It does have a nice 2-3 shift tho.. I have a super servo I can put in as a test.. thank you
