1-2 shift

I have a 1986 gn with 54,000 original miles.My mods are as listed except I have a TA 49 and Blue Tops now with a Thrasher 92 octane chip.My transmission is stock.I have owned the car for 4 years now and change the fluid and filter every year which works out to every 800 miles.My 1-2 shift at wot is too lazy.it is not chirping or spinning the tires on the shift.Part throttle shifts are fast and firm.Second to third shift is good at part throttle or wot.Any ideas.Bruce

I would look at 1-2 acc spring. Maybe the band is just worn or the anchor has tore the volcano out of band or it is beginning to break or oblong. All I can think of off top of my head. Also did ball get stuck in plate. Seen that once or twice.
