1/3 mile roll on race day

I just signed up for this with my TTA. Anyone else interested in taking their sleeping giant to try to bust up some Euro cars?

Good luck busting some some euro cars, I hope your car is making over 700whp, most car that go to that event are roll racing cars because they cant hook from a dead stop, 90% of them are making over 900 rwhp.

Yeah that's what I figured. Only making 520hp/580tq, but it should be a good time just to go see some of these cars and motivate me to do some upgrades.

You will absolutely be motivated after they put bus lengths between you and them., but you are right it will be a good time, just remember that Buicks unless built for that kind of long run wont last very long.. LOL

What do you mean by built for that kind of long run? I've done some 1 mile roll on runs up to 170MPH with my car a couple of times.

1/4mi head up or bust.

I've done hundreds of passes 1/8 and 1/4 mile with the car. This is more like a simulated street race when you find another fast car on the freeway, but in a safe environment. I agree though, it's not really a true test of the whole car, as hooking the tires is taken out of the equation.

If your car is not built or tuned for long runs the EGT's on a turbo car are going to go high very fast, not to mention the trannie temps will also be high, just make sure you have plenty of fuel for top end runs or you will be building a new engine soon..

So did you go do this event? If so, how did you do?

It was a lot of fun. I had a couple wins and several defeats. I had some boost issues I am blaming on a clogged up air filter that slowed me down a bit.

Starting speed was around 40MPH, I was trapping around 130MPH.

Wins:
New modded Mustang GT with unknown mods
modded M5

Losses:
80's Mustang with a 350 SBC (a couple car lengths)
A couple Supras (a couple car lengths)
M3 4.0L turbo (a few car lengths)
modded Biturbo Mercedes (he dusted me bad)
New Mustang GT with supercharger (a couple car lengths)
LS1 Firebird pushing 550HP (nose to tail)

Very nice! I went to their Airstrip Attack in Coalinga last October and there were some bad ass cars!
