What do I have to do to get my bone stock 87 (Does have blue top injuctors) GN into th low 12's to mid to high 11's

For me, it took bigger injectors 40's got me there,(50's for safety) bigger turbo (PTE44), and a FMIC. Plenty of boost, timing, race chip and race gas (guys run alky these days). Oh ya, and sticky tires!!

LOTS OF STUFF....get the basics down first. Get your self a knock gauge and an audible knock gauge to be safe. Get a power logger or a scanmaster. Make sure you have everything to support those times. Get a walbro 340 fuel pump with the hotwire kit. Once you have the supporting mods then you can start turning up the boost and such things. My buddy ran 11.96 with stock internals Te45 Turbo, 75lb per hour injectors, slicks, built tranny with 9" art car 19930 converter, basic mods as stated prior. Get yourself a RJC power plate for a stock plenum, cold air intake, boost controller, exhaust, smaller torque converter and build the tranny, since thats the weak link in our cars. You should only need a heavy duty heat treated input drum and thats pretty much all the hard tranny parts you'll need. You could get an aftermarket turbo, look at getting yourself a chip, check with steve yacklin and get a max effort chip. It is fully programmable. Those are the items you can look at purchasing, however, I cannot stress enough GET THE SUPPORTING MODS AND MONITERING DEVICES, then you can start looking at doing things to get into those times. Hope this helps. Do lots of searches as well. Get yourslef an alky kit. Your can run much higher boost and timing on pump gas

Don't buy the hype, do it the easy way get TT to burn you a alky chip, Razors alky setup, 275 drag radials, test pipe. solid maf pipe with k&N , guy 2 houses up from me is running 12.2-12.3 all day with that exact setup on a low mile white 86 t.

Old School thrasher 108 chip for Blue tops

Walbro 340 and make a Hot Wire

237 FP regulator

K&N Filter cone filter mounted on a MAF Bracket

1 screen removed from MAF

Ported stock turbo elbow, and port match the stock inlet bell

Gut the cat (or swap in a test pipe if the cat is good) and cross bolt it so it is a bottom dump (bypass the cat back)

Make your wastegate rod adjustable, adjust to 22 psi (run 1/2 tank 116 octane leaded)

Right side motor tie down or H&R Motor mount.

If the Valve springs aren't fresh, replace them.

Make sure all of the intercooler pipes line up perfect, port the necks as required.

Make sure there are ZERO pre turbo exhaust leaks. No Header Cracks, crossover cracks or leaks in the turbo to header joint.

Make a TC lock up switch and lock it the line.

Borrow a scan tool and make sure everything from the TPS to the MAF is reading in spec. Make sure there is NO knock, including false knock going down the track.

Have the Transmission checked out and adjusted and add a shift kit

Right side airbag start at 20 psi

275/60 Drag radials, start at 18 psi.

At the track spray the intercooler down with water so it is dead cold when you get to the line.

Put the car into D (Not OD) and lock the TC switch.

To Launch, Hold the Brakes to build 3 to 5 psi of boost and right before you release the brake, slam the gas pedal to the floor. Don't ever try to pedal it. You need to learn to launch with all or nothing. Find the right combo of pedal slam, brake release, tire pressure and airbag pressure so the tires plant at launch for the fastest 60 ft times.

If the above doesn't net at least Mid 12's@108, something is wrong. Fix what is wrong and low 12's@110 are right there.

get a bigger battery and just hold the starter all the way down the track...

Sticky tires are a must... next would be race gas/alky and a proper chip/tune... a larger turbo never hurts. Big injectors were my next upgrade...

Im shooting for a 12.00 after my suspension work is done and my 60lbs injectors find their way into the setup... Oh and I tune it for 20lbs on 33% E-85... a FMIC is probably next in line for my mods.

First step is stickies... makes the car into a whole different animal. Goes from being barely able to eat a slowstang to destroying modded SS. No one talks to me on saturday nights any more... The nice thing about these cars is that they will run on the street what they run on the track... not many cars will do that. read up and enjoy.

I ran mine this past summer for the first time. I have done a best of 12.02@113 with whats in my sig. Long block completely stock

A good fuel pump with hotwire kit, adjustable regulator & WG, TT chip, scanner, race gas and turn up the boost...see where it takes you.
