Name a car that you or a family member owned that you wished you had taken to the drag strip for a time slip?

My Dad's 71 Mercury Montego MX brougham.

The original owner ordered it with a 3 series gear because the car would really rev at 70 mph. also had a 351v 4 bbl.

It could lay patches that would never end.
It was also very quick when easing of the line to a slight roll..

I had givin it plenty of street action back in 76 & 77 But I never took it too the drag strip.. to this day I wonder what it would have run.:(

My first car....67 Firebird. 4spd, but only a 326 2 barrel.

Probably would have only ran a 16.x but I would like to know what it would have done.

28years ago (ouch!) I had a '63 Nova SS...nice looking car, wish I still had it, but "SS" was REEEEELY stretching the truth, what with a straight 6 and a powerglide!

I had me one of those newfangled digital watches with an actual stopwatch in it (state of the art back then!) so one day on a semi-back road I decided to see just how slow this car actually was...

I stab the throttle and push the "start" button simultaneously, gonna get me a zero-to-sixty time...

...ummm, running out of road, guess we'll do a zero-to-FIFTY...

....<click> geez, FINALLY!!

and the stop watch sez: 24:00

I swear, 0-50 in 24 flat! Probably the safest 1/4 mile dragster ever built by GM! (and they called it an "SS")

Lets see.............My mom's 71 hemi roadrunner, my dad's 69 427 stingray or my first car 1974 vega w/ 283 and 4 spd. Any of the 3 wood have been interesting.

my 87 GN... I did actually bring it but a defective Y hose almost took my motor out 60 feet into the run... it was stolen before I was able to go back again....

Had a 1970 GTX 440-4speed. If I had known at 18 all the stuff I learned by the time I hit 30..............

My Mom's old '72 455 4bbl Vista Cruiser. It was a big bad woodgrain-paneled torque machine! Man, I loved that car! :)
Probably would have been slow as hell in the 1/4 though.
