Crushed boxes

Hey Ted,

Put me down on the "crushed box" list as well....
Really a shame because the cars are beautiful.
Can't wait for the next two....hopefully you can get the
packaging corrected or get UPS to be more careful.

Thanks,
Steve

Got mine today. Luckily the boxes were fine. My dad's were fine too. I really love these color schemes. I can't wait to get the other two.

My wife doesn't mind seeing the diecast boxes come to the house. Her reply is "So what's my allowance?". I was excited to see the two tone brown car because I have seen a real one last summer at Norwalk Buick nats. Even turned out that my wife knew the owner from when they were kids. And I am looking forward to the blue car. Even though it wasn't a turbo car, one of my first cars was an 81 Regal in two tone blue.

Got mine today boxes were perfect! Looking good!!

Got mine as well (#77). Sweet cars and the boxes were in good shape.

I was hoping for a tan interior for the brown car. Other than that, top notch.

Anyone else notice that it took until the last set of cars to get the chrome trim instead if the W02?

p.s. Nice pics Jim!

Ted, did you save a 2 tone brown/chestnut one for the guy with the "real mccoy" who sent you all the picts so they could get it right? lol;)

got mine as well boxes and cars ok also this white one in 1:24 was ok lights and all are on it thanks guess that means the other one is very rare due to missing parts out of the box?

I agree, when I talked to Ted and sent him the picts of the striping, exc. he explained to me that the cost of makin the interior tan would have been outrageous to do and would have raised the cost on the brown/chestnut car so much that they would not be able to do it.

Tan and Brown Interior

I got a couple of these cars. One for saving and one for display. Had it done how it should have been with the tan/brown interior. Took it all apart and had the complete interior hand painted identical color to the car with the brown dash and steering wheel exc. and the rest tan. Came out perfect, you would never know it wasnt made this way. Picts are a little weak...took them with my cell phone, may take nicer ones later. Thought you guys would like to see.

Great job on the interior color!

Can you do that to mine too??!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I will see if I can talk the artist into doing another(the woman);) These picts dont do it justice. She kept mixing paint and going out to the garage to compare it to the actual car till she was happy with the color match. Spent several hours makin it look perfect. She put incredible attention to the details...guess she takes after me from doing the real show cars.:D

That looks awesome. How hard was is to take apart? I did an ERTL Firebird and it wasn't too bad. She is definetly an artist, I wouldn't have the patience for the fine detail!

Kudos to the artist/painter!!

It helps alot when you have the 1:1 for a reference.;)

Just curious, if/when you receive the other two 2-tone cars (blues/reds) will you be doing the same interior mods?

It wasnt real bad at all to take apart. 6 screws total. I wouldnt have the patience either. It takes a super steady hand and brushes with such fine tips its like a needle. The dash and steering wheel areas were the worst part by far for her to do and certain areas of the console. She even used a differant color/paint on the carpet sections because its slightly darker than the seats.

troGNman I think I probably will. It made it easy to want one done with the correct tan interior having the real thing but it came out so good that Im sure I will get the others when they are released and have her paint them also...if she doesnt charge me to much;)

Has anyone received their Red on Rosewood and Dark Blue on Light Blue cars yet? Just wondering when I should be looking for mine.
