With the rear end cover removed from the stock GN 10 bolt, what is the purpuse of the two 1/2 inch diameter holes on either side of the center section. Each hole is located near the axle tubes but under the rear end cover - just to clarify.
I bought a used GN 10 bolt with 115K miles on it and those two holes are oil coked solid. Are they needed for some type of lubrication flow? Any suggestions on removing the coked oil? It's real solid and won't just scrap out.
The rest of the rear end looks great.
Thanks, Craig
