12's on a stock turbo

Our Local racing forum held it's KOTS race yesterday. So I went out in the first round but I did run my best ever and schooled a F-body owner in practice. Stock turbo on 17 lbs of boost with NO alky and no knock.


The charge air density was through the roof and the car really liked it. It was 48 degrees when the track opened and made it up to the high 50's in the afternoon.

Pulled up cooled down and aired down the DR's and ran a 8.45 @ 80 (1/8th Mile)

Got the kit on the workbench. but I sold out and bought a rebuildable TA-49 yesterday.

You really need to run 8.29's or better in the 1/8 to run 12's in the 1/4, unless you have 85 or more MPH.

8.30@82 mph will give you a 13.0 or slower almost every time.

The Stock turbo will pretty easily go 7.7's with Boost & Octane or Alchy so you have lots of room to be faster with your combo.
