So what else would I need to make this plug and play with my 87 GN? Also, what about the miles, do I unplug that odometer thingy and plug mine in so the miles are correct?

You wouldn't need anything else for it to work. Plug and play.
The mileage you would have to adjust. There are some threads about changing the mileage on here I believe.
