Recently I built my new custom box for my two MTX Thunder 8000 12's. It sits on the package tray and faces the back, fits perfect between IMM auto specialists trunk kit/trunk torsion bar suports, Chuck hooked me up with some matching carpet for the box that matches the trunk kit, looks sweet. (I'll get you guiys some pics/dimensions shortly) ANYWAYS.....I had some nasty rattles from the 2 12's, so I did what I did in my old 93Jimmy, I went to wal-mart and bought 7 pounds of polyfill and packed the trunk lid as full as I could where the openings are around the sides/bottom/top, and also put some where the taillights bolt up to ( my trunk kit hides all of this) I also put a bunch of poly fill inside of the box with some poly fill sheets behind the woofers so the stuff doesnt effect the cone/voice coils.

The only rattle I have is my gas tank, not too bad for an old 83 Regal;)

can you see the stuff inside the trunk lid?? My friend with a Monte used plumber's calk (sp?) and then painted it black...I'd like do something about the rattling, but I'm not going to make my car look ghetto either....do you have pics of this stuff?

I can assure you my stereo setup does not look ghetto. I forgot to mention before I put in the poly fill in the trunk lid I sprayed the whole bottom ( the area under the deck lid cover from IMM auto speacialists) with sound proofing spray, so the spots where it's just sheet metal on braces was dampened. Imagine looking at the inside of your trunk lid when it's open, you'll see some "openings on the bottom, top and on the sides, this is where I filled it with poly fill, my trunk kit deck lid cover all the openoings so it's not visible. another option if you dont have a deck lid cover would be fill the cracks and then trim out some carpet and cover the poly fill, I think that would look good. I'll try to get some pics soon.
