15 x 7" wheels, what tires?

What size tires will work well (stock height, wider width) with factory 15 x 7 1984 Monte Carlo SS wheels without worrying about them being too wide? Looking to mount Drag radials on them, thanks..

235/60R15 for stock height, 26". You could go 255/60R15 without problems, I think they're about 27" height, better if you have traction problems. 275/50R15 are stock height, but need a much wider rim to get a flat contact patch. HTH.

I've heard of people running 275/50/15's on these wheels, but I was skeptical with a 15 x 7 wheel. 255/60/15's look like the deal. Any recommendations on what tire to use? What difference in top end RPM's will I notice? It peaks out at 5200 now with 26" tires, can I expect around 5000 at the trap?
