I have weld drags with 28x10.5 slicks will they fit under a stock gn the wheels have a 4.5 back spacing.

i have 12.5 x 28 x15 with3.5 backspacing on 8.5 centerlines and they fit fine.didnt have to roll the fender.you should use 2 air bags. as for the 4.5 bs im not sure but i know a 4.0 bs will work.

4.5" BS will hurt you with the 28 x 10.5 ET Drags. If your car is like everyone else's with this tire installed, they should rub the frame rails. You really need 3.5" Back spacing with that tire. Also, it is a good idea to roll the inner fender lips so that they won't cut the side wall of the tire under growth on the big end.
Hope this helps a little.

4.5 inch of backspacing will not work with 28X10.5 inch slicks. 4 inch backspace would be real close. I has 26X10 inch slicks on a stock T-Type rim (3.875 BS) and they hit the frame on both sides. The stock T rims are 15X7 which are to thin for a 10 inch slick. The sidewall bulge is the reason they were hitting.

I can still go trade in my 10.5 slicks for 9 inch slicks will they fit with the 4.5 back spacing?

The 28x9 should fit, but you definately will want to check frame to sidewall clearance when you mount them up.

I am glad this was posted I am about to go to a 28x10.5 myself. I have a Weld Drag Lite 15X8 w/3.5 BS. So based on RUQWKNUF comments, this will work right? Maybe roll the lips?

TIA

Like Pat said, I have 10.5s (W's actually) on 15x8 3.5 bs Centerlines. Rolled lips and zero, ziltch, zippo rubbing.

very carefully. there was a thread posted a while back im sure its still listed on the board. like i said i have 28x12.5x15 with 2 air bags and DID NOT roll the fenders . dont roll them if you dont have to or have someone who knows what there doing roll them.

15x8 4.5" BS Pro Stars

Will 275/60x15 Drag Radials clear the frame rails without notching? If not, will any tire work on a 15x8 4.5" BS wheel?

Bill,
That tire should just barely work. If not u can always use a very thin spacer to get what u need.

1/2" spacer and longer wheel studs and they fit perfect.

With a 1/4" wheel spacer they will likely rub some.

15x8 with 3.5" BS it is....

Thanks for the help guys....I will go with the 3.5"BS instead. Sounds like a better fit all together.....:)
