can you put a 16x8,4in bs,on the front of 87 gn? thanks for any help, nick

If you're car sits low, it may rub occasionally on the outer wheel lip. 4.5 would be better. On my GN, has 17s with 4.5 BS and I tried a 1/4" spacer and it would rub when I went over bumps that made my frontend bounce down. Took off the spacer.

I beg to differ. The GNX had a 4in (15mm) BS on it's front not too mention it would push the wheel out so that you could see more of it and look better as far as i'm concerned.

But the wheelwells were modified on the GNX.... I recall seeing pics of the modification being done for tire clearance....

IIRC, the fronts had the inner bolts removed, and the holes welded over...
(I recall this being a contact point on my T as well, when I had 16x8s on the car with 255/50 16s on the front and rears...) There were other mods to the front inner fender as well...

I believe the rear wheel backspacing was 23mm.on the GNX. (15mms on the front)for whom it may concern.

That is the offset, not the backspacing.

GTA fronts have zero offset, so they have between 4.3" and 4.4" backspacing.

The GNX Fronts would have a backspacing of 3.7" to 3.8", but the fender lips would be modified to reduce rub.

With 4" BS and an 8" wheel, a 245 wide tire would possibly rub the fender lip once in a while, but it will probably work OK. If you put on aftermarket 12" brakes, you will get LOTS of fender lip rub.
