Does anybody know where I can have the interior of my '82 done? The seats, door panels, carpet... everything is trashed. I see there are a couple of vendors doing seats for the '84, but they both told me there isn't enough call for the '82 seats, even though they are almost identical except for the color of the cloth. Any ideas?

I don't have any idea what an 84 interior even looks like. But if you say it is the same as a later model just a different color...If you are sure about that..you could get the covers of the later model and take them to an auto Upholsterer and just have him change the inserts to a different fabirc...That should be pretty cheap...Having an whole inteior made from scratch would be expensive...I should know I am an retired upholsterer.

You say you have an 84 GN?? Is that the one with the 4 barell carb on it with the turbo charger right next to it?? How much boost you get out to that thing and is it fast?? I am thinking of putting that whole setup on my 83 buick Regal V6, I even have an intercooler to throw on too.. Do you use a stock timing? or what is your advance on that thing??

Most 82 GNs are not turbo, and the 84-up are SFI. If you want to do a carb turbo setup then you should consult the experts in the before black section of this board.

Is your 82 GN in the registry? As far as interior, you're gonna have a rough time with those seats. Might have to go with an 84 setup.

I know a guy in Kearney Nebraska that has an 82 if you need pictures to help...

Factory 82 GN did have a draw through carb turbo set up but most of them came with a 4.1 Liter with a 4 barrel. Please come to the before black section so we can help you with your project.

The problem with getting the reproduction '84 seat covers is price. They are about $1200 for the set. I would then have to change all of the cloth to match the '82. I had the complete interior of my first '82 done years ago by a friend and it was well over $2000 without having to replace any of the leather. Now that the car is road worthy I'll be hitting up some of the local upholstery joints to get an idea of what to expect.

Mine is in fact a 4.1 powered car. They do surprisingly get down the road pretty good!

It's not in the registry just yet. Wanted to get the car on the road first.
