hi guys i have a n/a 87 buick regal that i am trying to eventually do a 5.3l swap then maybe later turbo if budget allows. well this is my question their is a 1983 buick t-type getting parted out now what i want to know is more information on this rear end. will it be simple swap or will i have to have the driveshaft shortened to put it into my regal. i have a olds 307 right now. the only information i can find is that if it is a 8.5 rear end i have to shorten my driveshaft by one in. but when i wikied it it says that in 1983 the t-type received bigger gears but still the 7.5 in rear end. so by what i can put toghether from this it should be a simple swap exept for i dont know if the driveshat connections are the same. if their is anybody that has any information i would appreciate it. thanks

It's a 3.42 ratio and will be a direct swap. Driveshaft will be the right length.
