Time to take the right steps to getting her running without hurting her insides.

This is never a good sign but expected from sitting after 27 yrs and not being started since 1990! Let's dig in!!

This is def not a good sign. Inside the radiator had a lot of sediment from the hose springs rusting. It seems it made it inside the water pump. :( the down side of sitting in storage.

I NEED THIS THERMOSTAT HOUSING. IT SEEMS TO BE 84' only and we can't seem to find one that's correct. Trying to keep the car original as humanly possible. Any leads on who to call? Thanks!

A good flush and a daily doss of rmi will clean that right up

Try intercooled88s for items like that, he's got a fair amount of LM9 parts.

Got the water system all flushed and power to her for the first time. All lights work! Plugs still out so time to give it the first crank over from the starter in 25 yrs.

The only tear in the entire interior is the drivers bolster.

The initial crank over shot out a new unpleasant surprise from the tranny cooler lines.... Looks like that water system rust had started in 88 and when the radiator rusted it made it's way into the trans for the long sit. No water was in the engine oil.

Amazing what time can and will do. How many miles are on the car? I love seeing the pictures. Hope you get it going soon.

Cool car cool story. When I was a kid I sat in GNX number 283 at Higgenbothem Buick in Casselberry Fl. Thank God you washed the dust off I have seen nowadays when the leave barn finds with the dust .
