1986 GN vin # on block? Where?

Just wanted to know if the actual car's VIN is on the block and trasmission and if so where is it located. I already found the 25526109 cast number, is the VIN also listed on the block?

yes its on a section on the deck of the block, driverside in front of #1 cyl. If I remember correctly its the sequence # (last 6 of the vin) If the blocks deck was milled it will not be there! OR if its a factory shortblock replacment.

Randy,

The VIN is on the driver side of the block as stated above but not in the front it's actually in back near the bell housing area. The VIN is on the transmission case along the pan rail.

The search feature should bring up a very detailed thread as to where the locations are and how to view them, ie. cleaning and mirror and flashlight.

Partial VIN's only in both locations.
