1987 Buick GN with no intercooler ?

Went to the Atlantic city car show. Seen a 1987 Buick GN there. Wasn't the cleanest. As I was checking out under the hood I noticed it had no intercooler. It had a straight pipe from the throttle body that went down to the scoop below the radiator. Never seen this before. Good or Bad ?

that car had a cas v2 fmic intecooler , the ic is black and fills the grille area looks like a radiator
it had the black powder coated 2.5" ic pipes and used the stock up pipe

Most people who look at these cars can loose track of the tubing and where it's going.
