Alright so a couple of months ago I was hired by GM to run the parts department at a local dealership but the gig fell through and I've been on the hunt. Kinda pissed me off because my ASE certification hasn't done squat for me . So two days ago I get a call to meet a lady at a local dealership. Turns out her and her husband run a mobile wheel repair company that services dealership lease return vehicles and privately owned vehicles in need of wheel repair. They do work for BMW, MB, Maserati, and Porsche. I've really never done this type of work but I figured I'd wing it and see what happens. They showed me how to do it...handed me the tools and watched me do one. When I was finished with that wheel they were like :D and told me I was the first person they've seen in 15 years of running the company that mimicked every single step to the T. The wheel looked brand new.

We sat down and had a talk. Turns out it pays almost 50K a year, I get to use the work truck, and manage 5 other guys!!!! I am ecstatic!!! Thank you Lord!!!

Congratulations on the new gig.
I hope you really enjoy it!

Exotics. Nice.

Thanks guys!!! I am so thankful. It's been a lot of stress on my relationship...too much surfin Turbobuick.com . and the ol lady was getting a little irritated. In a month I am gonna grab a daily driver and start pulling apart my T Type for some much needed freshening...ie finish the 4.1, new hair dryer, cage, CK Performance TH400, and do the front/rear suspension. I'm basically gonna duplicate a board member's setup that got him in the deep 11s high 10s.

I think we all take for granted having a steady income. Cant imagine what that would feel like not knowing how I was gonna pay my bills. Good4u

Set those ground rules immediately for those that work for you. It will make your job easier. Speak any spanish? I know I need to learn some. Sometimes I feel like the minority at work. Spanish is just a second language where I work and my job would be much smoother and safer if I could speak the 3rd tongue.

They guys there speak English which makes things go smoothly. I am fluent in Spanish thanks to a few classes and intimate lessons from a few mamasitas. The job is pretty straight forward. The service guys drive the cars up, hands us the repair ticket and we go at it. From what I've seen the guys have a good work ethic and stay busy. The owner told me he's laid the foundation for productivity and a good environment....all he needs me to do is maintain it...that I will do.

I was working for a talent scouting agency in Hollywood but the company went belly up. That screwed me up big time. The money was REALLY GOOD and the work environment was filled with eye candy. I loved that job but new laws in Ca forced them reduce staff and relocate to Nevada. After being unemployed for almost 4 months I surely appreciate this opportunity.

Take some advice. Don't try to be their friend, be their boss. I've been a boss a loooooooong time. It does not mix well. You'll be a much better boss that way. Congrats on the job.

Congrats Terik:cool: Hope you enjoy the new job, just bust ass and do the best you can and expect the same from the people under you. If they dont perform, make a change. Do Not let them bring you down.

Ty

Thanks again for the advice and kudos fellas!!! Good day today!!! We went out to Simi Valley and did some work at some rich dude's house. This is the first time in my life I have ever touch Ferrari. The owner let me drive it to the spot where I needed to do the repair. I am not a fan of exotics but holy sh*t that's a nice car. I was kinda nervous but the wheels came out sweet. I didn't have my phone on me so I couldn't take pics but we are scheduled to go back out there next week to fix his wife's wheels so I'll take some of his Modena.

congrats terik

man i wish i can feel that feeling in a little bit... unemployment sucks
