2 High school kids drag race at the wrong place

I am running an errand today.

I see the stream of High school kids leaving school in thier cars.
The road is 2 lanes in same direction.
I noticed both cars at the red light are racing engines. I took a right on red which is allowed.

I look in my mirror as I see them start off the green. I am gonna take the hiway on ramp so I knew I would be out of thier way.

I think "what a stupid place to race" because it is leading to an OVERPASS and then curves down hill.

Anyway kid in IMPALA has a lead on little foriegn car.

I slowed down on the ramp to watch. I see the IMPALA swaying and hear the tires wailing to the point he was loosing control. Then I HEAR BOOM because some shrubs were in my way.

He either hit a guard rail or plowed into another car.

I Agree. We have a track up here but yet these two could have gone there on street night and raced each other.

The other states of New England are in desperate need of drag strips.
I think Conn and RI could support one each

CT and RI would support one for sure. Our only hope is the Casino owners to build one on their land but they are hurting with the economy so doubt if that will happen.

If the Casinos (foxy or Mohegan) did put a world class NHRA track it could hold a regonal event. That would bring folks to lodging at the casino hotels.

One thing I never could UNDERSTAND about CT is How can you have A world Class Casino and a Crappy 2 lane road leading into it from rte 95?

good place for a impalla is in a salvage yard next to the ricer
