2 to 3 shift pt increases when hot - Problem or not

When cold and warming up the trans shifts at 31 mph consistently but after driving for a while the 2nd to 3rd shift point goes up to 37-38 mph and seems to kind of slide in. Is this a problem in the making? What are the possibilities of the cause? Thanks

oil leaking past the tv upshift valve bore plug or the valve itself is usually the cause.i would retorque the valve body and check the governor cover gasket for leaks or looseness first.

Chris or anyone else who cares to answer, do I have to remove the pan, valve body to check the governor cover gasket?
If not this then would you suspect the tv valve? It is a fairly new tv valve from an Art Carr shift kit.
Are you pretty confident in your diagnosis?
