I need some help I decided to drop the 700R4 idea for my monte and go with a 200-4R. I have been looking and looking and trying to get help on what parts to use and everything and it always turns into a 200-4R vs. 700R4 debate. I read over on monte ss boards this is the place for 200s, im running a 350 making 425-435tq and around 400hp rear end is 3.73 gears what all do I need to make the 200 bullet proof for my set up? Im 18 so im planning on getting all the parts and taking them to a retired tranny builder I know.

Thanks for the help

Reptoid has a nice site but..........

ask around before you buy as you should do before puchasing or getting any trannie parts or work done any where.

It was late when I wrote the last reply and for got to add where you can get all that you need.

http://www.2004rperformancecenter.com/

PTS has everything you'd ever need or want to make these trannies live behind any power level and the knowledge and customer service to back it up. If you don't see what your looking for on the site feel free to call.

As for the the sun gear shell yes if you don't have the hardened on e already you need one, for the band kevlar sounds nice but actually is very hard on drum and will wear the drum too fast, fwd. drum that is hardened does not compare to a billet shafted fwd drum the billet won't break period, and wake up kit PTS has the largest on the market bar none.

Here's a quick list of what I'd recommend:

Pressure regulator system comes w/ P/R valve HD. spring .570/.400 boost valves largest on the market

10 vane pump is more than enough but any pump kit must have proper cleaces in pump body to work right

hardened stator support, hardened pump ring and drain back holes enlarged in pump

3 clutch O/D setup instead of 2

Blue plate in direct drum clearanced to .038"

reinforced Alto red wide band and 300m anchor pin

Billet servo w/adjustable pin

hardened sun gear shell

rollered l/r center support

VB (shift) kit

and billet input shaft and fwd. drum if you want peace of mind that you'll never break them and have to go back into trans to replace them.

Yeah what he said...

feel free to browse the site and give us a call with ant ?'s you might have. :D
