200-4R shifting in and out of OD at WOT??

Art, a fellow member from the PY boards asked me to post this over here for him as he has been having difficulty logging in/setting up his account here:

"I hope you don't mind answering a question from an "outsider". I put a 200-4R trans in my 69 Firebird. It shuttles back and forth between 3rd and OD at WOT. I have installed a GN valve body, a GN governor, a Sonnax servo, and cut 1 1/2 coils off the 3-4 shift spring. Cutting the coils off the shift spring seemed to work for a while, but now that I have rebuilt the engine, the problem is back. I have tried re-adjusting the TV cable numerous times. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?"

I had this happen on mine with the OG vb & I think it was a cross leak on the vb. I retorqued the vb & it was good.
