200-4r transmission

Hello all I recently purchased a 1986 Monte Carlo ss that has a 200-4r tranny in it and an aftermarket edelbrock carb on it while I test drove it yesterday I noticed that the tranny was not shifting I had to shift it manually anyone here Know what may be causing this

Is the TV cable adjusted correctly?
GM TV Cable Adjustment Instructions
Does the Edelbrock Carb have the correct TV Geometry correct on the Carb linkage.

i know that the previous owner did not get the tv correctors so i am going to have to buy those as for the tv adjustment i will have to wait till i am home to check on theat

Let us know if it fixed the problem or if you need any more help.
Also the Summit brand TV Geometry Corrector is cheaper.
